The Website, the Coding Contest Platform and the Coding Contest Events are organized and operated by Cloudflight GmbH headquartered in Munich (Germany). Throughout these Terms of Participation, the words “we”, “our”, “us”, and “Cloudflight” refer to Cloudflight GmbH and their parents, subsidiaries and affiliates collectively. The term “Submissions” shall refer to any entry, component of an entry, or contents of a posting onto the Website submitted in connection with Contests. “Contests” shall refer to any events or other competitions that either take place on-site or online on the Website. You and any other user of the Website that individually or as a team take part in the Contest shall be referred to as a “Contestant”.

Cloudflight may revise these Terms of Participation at any time without prior notice by updating this page and such revisions will be effective upon posting to this page. Please check this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of this Website following the posting of any revisions to these Terms of Participation will mean you accept those changes. We reserve the right to alter, suspend or discontinue any aspect of codingcontest.org, including your access to it. Unless explicitly stated, any new features will be subject to these Terms of Participation.

Our website is not intended for use by children under the age of 16 (except for Austria from the age of 14). You must have your parents' permission to use this Website and to take part in Contests if you have not reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction of primary residence and citizenship.

You may need to set up an account in order to use some of the features of the Website. You may not use a third party's account without permission. When you are setting up your account, you must give us accurate and complete information. This means that you cannot set up an account using a name or contact information that does not apply to you, and you must provide accurate and current information on all registration forms that are part of the Website. You may only set up one account. You have complete responsibility for your account and everything that happens to your account. This means you need to be careful with your password. If you find out that someone is using your account without your permission, you must let us know immediately. You may not transfer your account to someone else. We are not liable for any damage or losses caused by someone using your account without your permission. However, if we (or anyone else) suffer any damage due to the unauthorized use of your account, you may be liable.

Organizing and holding Coding Contest Events would not be possible without the support of partners and sponsors. Our partners, sponsors and affiliated companies can only realize such Coding Contest Events if, in return, they are also given the opportunity to present their services and also to place job offers. To this extent, such data processing is necessary to enable the Coding Contest Event. Accordingly, data processing is carried out in accordance with art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, for details see our Privacy Policy. We therefore reserve the right to use the data collected during registration for further contact, in particular to transmit company information, information about related events and job offers, as well as our respective partners and sponsors.

The list of the partners and sponsors at the respective event location may vary from event to event and will be announced in form of Specific Terms of Participation and Official Rules and Regulations of the venue before the closing date of the respective event. To the extent that any conflict exists between these Terms of Participation and any special terms and conditions of participation, the special terms and conditions of participation for that Contest in which you choose to participate shall prevail.

You shall grant non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, all paid up, sub-licensable, unlimited usage rights into any and all Submissions made by you to the Coding Contest Platform in connection to a Contest.

You hereby authorize us and any Contest partners and sponsors to publicize the results of any Contest. The Contest partners and sponsors have a justified interest in presenting this contest in the usual media in a correspondingly promotional manner. For this purpose, the Contest partners and sponsors will also publish the usual pictures and videos associated with the contest, which concern the course and the execution of the contest, for the purpose of reporting on this contest. The personal rights of the persons concerned do not outweigh this, as these are exclusively general representations of the persons in the context of the contest, including the award ceremony. As stated above Contest partners and sponsors are entitled to use your name, address, testimonial statement (or statements in different words which have substantially the same meaning) voice, photograph and/or other likeness covered under the legal bases mentioned above in any and all advertising and promotional materials, or to refrain from doing so, in any manner or media whatsoever, worldwide, for advertising and promotional purposes in conjunction with this and similar Contests and according to the purpose, carried out in “Contest” without notice to you and without further compensation. You shall have no claim to any compensation, and no claim arising out of the use, alteration, distortion or illusionary effect or use in any composite form of your name, address, testimonial statement, voice, photograph or likeness, for details in terms of data protection rights see our Privacy Policy.

You understand that we own all video footage and photographs of you taken by us and we may copyright material containing such photographs.

You understand that neither Cloudflight, the Contest partners and sponsors, nor their parent corporations, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, assigns, etc. or any entity connected with a Contest will be responsible for any costs you may incur in connection with any Contest or any prize you may be awarded. However, you understand that Cloudflight may make withholdings from any prize that you may be awarded in order to comply with applicable laws. You agree to sign any applicable forms necessary to distribute the prize as required by tax authorities.
